It has everything that Diecimila/Duemilanove has (electrically) with more analogue input pins and onboard +5V AREF jumper.
Physically, it is missing a power jack. The Nano automatically senses and switches to the higher potential source of power, so, there is no need for the power select jumper.
The Nano V3.0 has several facilities for communicating with a computer, or another Arduino, and even other microcontrollers.
The ATmega168 provides UART TTL (5V) serial communication, which is available on digital pins 0 (RX) and 1 (TX). A CH340G chip (replaces FTDI FT232RL) on the board channels this serial communication over USB and the CH40G drivers (included with the Arduino software) provide a virtual com port to software on the computer.
The Arduino software includes a serial monitor which allows simple textual data to be sent to and from the Arduino board. The RX and TX LEDs on the board will flash when data is being transmitted via the CH340G chip and USB connection to the computer (but not for serial communication on pins 0 and 1).
Mac OSX Driver: CH340GINSTALL THE DRIVER BEFORE CONNECTING YOUR ARDUINO! If you plug in your Arduino for the first time before installing the USB driver it will cause an involuntary shutdown.
